Chapeau (1-4 cm) hygrophane, brun pourpre sombre à presque noir, à bord souvent rose-rouge, brun-gris en séchant.

Lames assez serrées, brun-jaune à cannelle.

Pied (3-5 x 0,3-0,5 cm) rose rougeâtre à brun pourpré, à sommet parfois bleu, à voile orangé vif.

Chair pourpre. Saveur douce. Odeur nulle.
